Biomath 2025 – the annual international conference on Mathematical Methods and Models in Biosciences – will be held from June 15 to 20, 2025, at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics (IMI) and the Institute of Mechanics, both part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, Bulgaria. This globally recognized academic gathering brings together researchers and scientists who apply advanced mathematical and computational techniques to solve real-world problems in life sciences.

With a multidisciplinary focus, Biomath 2025 will cover a wide spectrum of bioscience fields, including biology, ecology, medicine, biophysics, pharmacokinetics, biotechnology, environmental science, and more. The conference aims to promote the development and application of mathematical models and tools in understanding complex biological systems and processes.

A major highlight of this year's event is the Special Topic Session on Mathematical Models of the Immune System in Human Disease, which will explore the use of mathematical modeling in studying host-pathogen interactions, immune system dynamics, cancer immunotherapy, vaccine responses, autoimmunity, and multiscale immuno-epidemiological systems. This session builds on the success of the 2023 Workshop on Mathematical Perspectives on Immunobiology held in Blagoevgrad.

Biomath 2025 also hosts the Biomath School for Young Scientists, featuring introductory plenary lectures and interactive workshops. This training platform is designed for early-career researchers and PhD students, offering foundational insights into emerging areas of biomathematics. A special Hot Topics Workshop will showcase key challenges and open problems in the field, moderated by leading scholars.

Researchers are invited to submit a 1–2 page abstract detailing the significance of their contributions to the field of bioscience modeling. Selected works will be invited for publication in Biomath Journal Volume 14 (2025), with manuscript submission due by September 30, 2025.

Biomath 2025 continues a strong tradition of scientific collaboration in biomathematics, dating back to 1995, and is supported by numerous institutions, including several departments of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, prominent Bulgarian universities such as Sofia University, and international partners like the University of Pretoria and the University of Warsaw. The event is also funded by the Bulgarian Science Research Fund, the Society for Mathematical Biology, and the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology.
